Two teenage boys will be charged as adults in the slaying of a 15-year-old boy who was stabbed to death outside his San Jose home, authorities said today.
Randy Thompson, 16, and Jae Williams, 15, both of San Jose, were arraigned this afternoon in Santa Clara County Superior Court in San Jose in the slaying of Michael Russell, a sophomore at Santa Teresa High School, officials said.
Amy Cornell, spokeswoman for District Attorney Dolores Carr, would not discuss a possible motive for the killing.
An uncle found Michael lying in the backyard of his home on the 5600 block of Comanche Drive near Highway 85 shortly after 8:30 p.m. Nov. 10. The boy died of stab wounds to his chest, back and neck, court records show.
The case is the second this month in San Jose in which juvenile suspects have been charged as adults.
On Nov. 5, Eduardo Cristobal, 18; Diego Gutierrez and Erik Diaz, both 16, and 15-year-old Hugo Torres were charged with attempted murder in a Halloween attack on two trick-or-treaters in San Jose whom they mistook for rival gang members, authorities said.
