Ellen White recorded visions that comforted the early Adventists and continues to help us prepare for Jesus’ Second Coming. In the early 1800s a spiritual revival known as the Great Advent Movement stormed around the world crossing over boundaries of race, culture, and religion, as people came together to study Bible prophecy. Concluding that Jesus was to return in 1844, their bitter disappointment as the year came and passed caused many to reject the Bible, leaving only a handful continuing to search the Word of God in their perplexity. Among these was an earnest young woman known as Ellen G. White.
